Ashwin slams Jaiswal's absence ahead of 2026 World Cup

Indian selector criticized for dropping young batter from ODI series against New Zealand.

Ravichandran Ashwin firmly contested the exclusion of Yashasvi Jaiswal from India's one-day team against New Zealand. According to him, the young talent deserved playing time in the final two matches while Shubman Gill rested. The selector fears that this absence could undermine Jaiswal's confidence ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Ashwin has called on Indian cricket administration to provide greater support for developing players.
