Brazil: 17 World Cup players absent from Ancelotti's friendlies

Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti made cuts to his squad for the friendlies against Australia and India. Only nine of the 26 World Cup winners from 2026 are included in the new list. Among those left out are experienced players like Neymar, Casemiro, Danilo and Alex Sandro who probably are not targeting the 2030 cycle. Other younger players, such as Gabriel Martinelli and Igor Thiago, remain on the bench despite encouraging starts to their club seasons.
