FIFA appoints five referees from the same country for Morocco-France

FIFA has confirmed the composition of the refereeing body for the Morocco-France encounter during the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This decision marks an exception to usual practices: all five referees and officials come from the same country. The international federation's refereeing commission justified this composition by emphasizing the competence of the appointed referees. The match holds particular importance for both selections in this world competition.
