The NFL Takes Over 2026 World Cup Final Stadiums

The NFL continues its global expansion with nine regular season matches spread across three continents and seven countries in 2026. Among them, six games will be held in stadiums that have already hosted the World Cup, notably the Maracanã in Rio (finals 1950 and 2014), Wembley in London (1966), the Stade de France (1998) and the Azteca in Mexico City (1970, 1986). This strategy reflects the league's ambition to use global football infrastructure to consolidate its international presence ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
