Quintero leaves River Plate after 2026 World Cup

Juan Fernando Quintero and River Plate have agreed to terminate their contract. The Colombian midfielder, author of the decisive goal in the 2018 Libertadores final, did not resume training after his participation in the 2026 World Cup. Quintero was complaining about his lack of playing time under Eduardo Coudet. The Argentine club paid tribute to the player by thanking him for his historical contributions.
