Ronald Koeman Jr., Telstar goalkeeper, broke down in tears on Sunday during a tribute to his mother, Bartina, who passed away Wednesday at age 65. The match against AZ Alkmaar was stopped at the thirteenth minute to allow the crowd to applaud an image of the young goalkeeper's mother on the stadium's large screen. Bartina had battled breast cancer for several years. Ronald Koeman, father and Netherlands manager for the 2026 World Cup, had to continue his participation in the last World Cup alone without her.
