2026 World Cup: DR Congo can participate despite Ebola
Despite the Ebola epidemic, Washington will authorize the Democratic Republic of Congo team to enter its territory for the 2026 World Cup.

The Democratic Republic of Congo will indeed compete in the 2026 World Cup in the United States. Washington had strengthened its health controls at borders against the Ebola virus by banning entry to travelers from DR Congo, Uganda and South Sudan. The American authorities ultimately granted an exemption to the Congolese team to participate in the world competition.
