England won the first match of the women's playoff for the 2026 World Cup against Greece with a score of 3-1. Georgia Stanway, Maya Le Tissier and Alessia Russo scored for the Lionesses, while Kallisti Brouksair reduced the deficit for the Greeks. Despite this comfortable advantage, manager Sarina Wiegman judged her team 'imprecise' at times. The decisive return match will be played next Tuesday.
