Spain imposed its dominance over the United States in a friendly match played in Brazil. The Iberian team, ranked number one in the world for sixty weeks and defending champions, opened the scoring through Guijarro and Navarro in the first fourteen minutes. Despite an American comeback attempt, including a missed penalty by Yohannes, the Spanish team maintained its advantage. Both nations are preparing for the 2026 women's tournament, though neither is fielding full squads at the moment.
