De Zerbi's Tottenham struggles ahead of 2026 qualification race

Roberto De Zerbi blames poor form and psychological issues for Spurs' chaotic start, while several of his players must shine to feature in national team selections for the World Cup.

Tottenham are going through a very difficult period in the Premier League, with four matches without scoring since the start of the season and a place near the bottom of the table. Roberto De Zerbi points to injuries sustained during pre-season in Oceania and late returns of international players after the busy 2026 qualification schedule. The Italian manager also mentions adaptation difficulties for new recruits who arrived late. For his key players, these anaemic performances risk damaging their credibility with their national teams.
