Thaís Lima, la gardienne franco-portugaise qui sauve le Brésil

Thaís Lima, gardienne du Benfica née à Lisbonne, a crucially saved Brazil in the round of 16 against the USA on Wednesday, March 16th, during the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup in Poland. After a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time, the 17-year-old goalkeeper parried Adams' penalty kick, leading Brazil to victory 5-4 in the shootout. Born to a Brazilian father and Angolan mother with Portuguese nationality, Lima chose to represent Brazil despite her youth career with Portugal's U-15 through U-19 teams. Already called up by coach Arthur Elias for the senior squad's friendlies against England and Italy in 2025, the goalkeeper now aims for the quarter-finals against Spain on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
